fennel like flavor

Very well made mole and a nice addition to the fridge to keep a diversity of sauces available. It has a bit of fennel or anise flavor which is not always my or my kids' favorite but in this case I think it adds a nice complexity and has made me think about pairings with meats like goat. The rest of our household is vegetarian, however, so a little bit of this mole goes a long way relative to other brands paired with lighter flavored veg proteins, because of the fennel/anise flavor. For us, I plan to roast some tempeh and I think this mole will go very well with beans and tempeh or grilled mushrooms. Overall, I'm happy to have tried it.
